They are made of clay, fired twice and glazed on the front and back. They measure 2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inches thick.

Food Safe (of course :)

I use these with Sugar cookies! Make sure to press into sugar before pressing!
If not you have to give them a wicked slap to get them unstuck :)

Grouchy Spiked Pot with Feet

I threw this pot on my kick wheel. After trimming the pot, I added 3 feet to the bottom and a spiked design to the exterior of the piece. It was then dried and bisque fired.

After the first firing, I glazed the entire pot with several different glazes to get the opalescent greencolor shown. The pot was then refired.

These little grouchy pots are perfect for any small houseplants you might have! Alfalfa grass is probably the easiest and cutest plant I have grown in my own grouchy pots :)

Little Grumpy Tray with Feet

Well I finally killed my laptop early last week, so I couldnt list anything new on Etsy. Fricking Torture! I swear I had the shakes for the first couple of days!
So without that little distraction, I actually made a lot of pottery. When I say a lot, I mean I threw 400 lbs of clay in 3 days! This is one of my newest designs.
Welcome to the world little guys!
If you look at them long enough they do look a little grumpy ;)

After the first firing, I glazed the outside of each bowl with my scale design in turquoise or lime green, alternating the inside color of the bowls. They were then refired.

Bah~Humbug on the tax man :(

Cereal Bowls

Yes, I know! I have had months and months to finish and pay taxes, but who wants to do that when there are pots to make and spring air to enjoy???
Anyways, they are finished! Thanks to my lil sister (accountant), Thanks so much Mary!!!
I just licked the envelopes and will go to the post office in the morning.
It may be I'm a little bitter about it all, but am I the only person who imagines the "tax man" to be a gw bush look-a-like, with a giant big head and little small body? Kinda like a bobble head, but so much more wicked, stingy?

Reflection

I was sitting in my studio yesterday. Not working just looking around, feeling a little overwhelmed at what my little hobby has become.
I started out 8 years ago with a used wheel and a wicked desire for creativity.
I remember beaming with pride at my first pot, thinking to myself,I cant believe I made this perfect little crooked pot.I held that pot, turning it in my hands with pure amazement!
I still feel that excitement when I open up the kiln to the ceramic goodness inside! I love holding a warm pot!
I just feel so grateful for the life I have, and for whats to come!
I know its crossed over from hobby to work, but looking around the studio it just doesnt feel much like work, more of a passion. My mom has asked me a few times, if pottery is as much fun now that this is my "job" and truth is yes! Maybe more!
Ok, Im done :) I just need to get this all out.
