I threw this teapot set on my kickwheel. After throwing and trimming all of the pieces, I added 4 little feet to each mug and the teapot. I pulled 3 handles and attached them to each piece. I then threw the spout and lid for the teapot. The spout was attached and a swirl carved into the top of the lid. The whole set was then dried and bisque fired.

After the first firing, I glazed each of the mugs with a light tan glaze. I overlapped the tan with a dark red and white. The results are very cool. The red at the top turned a bit brown and the white over top gave all of the pieces a textured flowing cap.

The teapot was glazed in the same colors, the inside of the teapot is glazed with a dark red with gold flows.

Teapot holds just under 2 cups. Enough to fill both of the mugs :)

I threw this lidded dish on my kickwheel. After trimming the piece, I formed a lizrd from a lump of clay and attached him to the top of the lid.

The lid can only be shut where the tail meets on the bottom half.

After bisque firing the dish , I glazed the entire outside of the pice in a Tropical Feathers glaze. Light green to dark green underglaze almost completely covered in a white crystal with blue, green and turquiose in the middle. The glaze is really awesome, but hard to photograph :)

The inside bottom of the dish was glazed with an icy black, the top inside was left unglazed.

Measurements:
4 inches tall
4 inch diameter
the dish isnt very deep at 1 inch
the lizard is 4 1/4 inches long

This dish would make a perfect for holding jewelry, candy, change, paperclips, garlic etc..............
I threw this mug on my kickwheel. After trimming the mug I added a foot ring to the bottom and a handle to the side. The mug was then bisque fired. After the first firing, I glazed the mug with 2 glazes. The first is a mossy green with light and dark blue crystals and the second glaze is a creamy turquiose glaze. The 2 glazes mixed together are AWESOME!!

After the first firing, I glazed the mug using 3 different colors. The ending results are awesome, I just wish the textured flows showed up better in the pics!

The final glaze color is a creamy brown with blue, yellow, cream, green and royal blue crystals. The drips result in a flow of brown, teal, purple and green

Night Sky Serving Bowl

Night Sky Serving Bowl
Originally uploaded by jmnpottery.
I threw this large bowl on my kickwheel. After trimming up the side I trimmed a foot into the base and bisque fired the piece, once it was dry.

After bisque firing, I glazed the entire bowl with a night sky glaze. Very dark, dark blue with white crystals that speckle the entire surface. The inside of the bowl was recoated with a watered down glaze. It lightened the blue glaze on the inside, giving it more depth.
