Large Spiked Grouchy Pot
I threw this pot on my potters wheel. After trimming the pot I added 3
sculpted feet to the bottom, I then covered the outside surface of the
pot with hundreds of little spikes. The pot was then dried and bisque
fired.
After the first firing I used several glazes to get the color shown, It was then refired.
There is a drainage hole in the bottom!
7 inch diameter
10 inches tall
6 1/2 inches deep

Large Grouchy Pot with Spikes and #1 rule in the Studio
I really love making these pots! It takes hours to roll all of the spikes and attach them, sculpt the feet, carving, sanding, firing and the finally glazing and refiring before I can actually see these "come to life". I love every step!
#1 rule in the studio is there aren't any rules. I don't really look toward other things for inspiration and 50% of the time I have no idea what I'm making when I start, that's the best part of doing what I do :)
What's your #1 rule?
